Honestly, this is a great starter violin! When I opened the package, it was in its case. The case is lightweight and protective, but I would still suggest being careful with it. There is some assembly acquired, but it was actually super easy- just the bring, a misplaced string, and a peg! Once you figure that out, not a thing is out of place! It has a beautiful even paint job and the sound quality is excellent! The bow was alright, it needs a lot of rosin, unfortunately... the rosin they give is terrible! I'm not sure if its real horse hair or synthetic, but purchasing another bow isn't a bad idea anyway. Once you rosin the bow for a very long time though, it sounds pretty good. I totally recommend this product to anyone learning and trying the violin before upgrading to something more professional. Looks exactly like the picture too! Again, great product!

Got this for my grandson (who is prone to losing things)... not likely to do so with this one as he is so excited to get started. We are taking it to the local music store to set it up and have it tuned properly.
I just received the violin several days ago but I am quite pleased so far. I'm a beginner (skill wise), so I don’t play much. The violin sounds great, everything is brand new, and it is such a good deal for the money! Just make sure to sand off the top layer of rosin before you use it. This violin came with an extra set of strings in addition to the ones on the instrument, just in case if one breaks in tuning. If you don’t play much with tight budget, strongly recommend this thing.

I would highly recommend this student violin to anyone just getting started. I've had mine for about a month and I absolutely love it. The violin itself was in perfect condition when it arrived -- it came with extra strings, an extra bridge, rosin, a cleaning cloth, two bows, a music stand, and I'm sure I'm missing something! The blue color is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely worth the money.
Looks great. Took it to the music store. they showed me how to tune it and sold me a cheap($20) tuner. Now, all i need is to learn to play it.
my daughter loved the violin and since all her classmates had blue violins ,well she wasn't going to be left out .after we tune and rosined the line all we heard was the violin in perfect harmony ,sounds good ,But i don't have another violin ,so yes we are new to violin and if you are too for the price you can't go wrong and with my prime membership it was free shipping in two day ,it better than driving around wondering where the better deal is ,..great product kids loved it
