For what it cost, this is an excellent violin. The color is sparkly and really white. I was really concerned with my ability to set it up, but it was not difficult at all. I did go onto YouTube to see how it's done before attempting. I also purchased a tuner so that I could see what note I was hitting in order to tune it since I have no ear for notes at all. It played perfectly. I did take some suggestion and took out each of the four pegs and rubbed them on the rosin so that they stopped slipping. Now it hold just fine. It will take a couple of weeks to break in the strings, but so far it plays wonderfully. My daughter loves it and for a beginner I would highly recommend this violin to start with. It actually sounds much nicer than her school violin. I was really concerned after speaking to her teacher who was very skeptical about cheap instrument. Figuring I could always return it if it was no good, I took the chance. I couldn't be happier.

After figuring out how to set up the violin and get it to work I was quite impressed with how nice it sounds. This is my first time holding violin and trying to play something, but overall I really like the product and see myself learning to play using this one. Great price too.
