These are great! I have two large male cats and they spray the back of the box; the high rear wall of these boxes keeps liquid from escaping and running down the exterior. In addition, the clear tops allow me to see the boxes' contents for thorough scooping without the extra step of removing the lids. And the cats seem to enjoy the increased visibility as well as the extra-large size.
This box is, as best as I can tell, the same as a pricier one sold at a big box pet store. I ordered the grey, which turned out to be a light tan color. I am very impressed by the size; I tried one years ago, but it was smaller and didn't work out at all. Previously, I was using the extra large open box, since I have 4 cats, but this one is dramatically bigger and deeper. One cat is pretty big, but is OK with this box and its large opening. There is virtually no dust problem now, my biggest concern. The litter scatter is also not a problem anymore, just a tiny bit near the opening. Even the odor is better, even though I was already using the expensive odor control litters. Because of where I have the box, the top has to be removed to scoop. This is very easy to do, although I only use the 2 back latches so it is that much easier to remove. I should also mention that, when I put in the order, there was a message stating that delivery would take several weeks; the litter box actually arrived in a few days. Having this product has actually improved the quality of life in my household. Can't say that about many purchases.
Great price, fast shipping and it is identical(other than color) to the one petco offers or sells. And, with petco you have to pay shipping and taxes. I saved myself At least $8.00 per box. So pleased and so pleased at how fast they arrived. And, the best part is that my cats LOVE them. The litter does not fly all over the place and the cats can see through the lid. One hint is to make sure when you first put it out for cats to use make sure there Is room all the way around it because cats are very curious and mine scoped the thing out and walked all the way around it making sure nothing was behind it before using. Just a helpful hint for those of you who know cats are not only curious but want to feel safe at the same time.
I have three cats and I've tried all kinds of litter boxes. This box keeps the dust down and is easy to clean. If the cats get too close to the edge, because the top is locked down, it keeps the waste inside the box.
Great litter box. Have one with the beige base. Don't like the dark color, but these boxes seem to be getting scarce, so I bought one. I have a loooong, fluffy cat (not a Maine Coon) and he can get in, turn around and completely hose the entire interior of this box and emerge quite pleased with himself. This seems to be one of the few litter boxes where the urine doesn't leak out under the lid and drip down the outside of the box, although it does get a bit onto the rim. From my shopping research, this seems to be the largest, ready-made litter box. (Larger boxes may be able to be created from storage containers...) Highly recommend for any cat except the smallest, most dainty, who may have trouble getting over the entrance.
