I have not gone camping in a VERY long time, since I was a kid, so I thought it would be fun to get a tent and go later this year with one of my nieces as a day trip. To be prepared ahead of time, I decided to set this tent up outside my house to make sure it actually went together, and also this way I would not be fighting, and looking like an idiot at the campground.
When taking the tent out of the nicely packed bag, the first thing I realized was the instructions were very basic and limited. The good thing, there are only a few steps, so you should be able to figure it out, I was able to. The first thing you want to do is pick the 2 poles out that are similiar (these cross each other), the one left goes in the front of the tent.
To get the tent together, place it flat on the ground, place the one pole through the middle, clip in place. Next, place the other pole crossways in the opposite direction, clip in place. This gets your basic tent up and ready to use. Do not forget to stake it in the ground also. I did not do that part since we were just testing it out at home. If you want the cover over the tent, place it over, put the pole through the front, hook poles into plastic pieces at bottom, complete!
I can say my boyfriend and I did have a little bickering putting this together, but that was primarily because we used the wrong poles together the first time. As long as you have them situated, you should be good.
Once the tent was up, it looked great! My boyfriend is 6'2",, he was able to fit in here along with me, a little sideways, but we were able to fit pretty comfortably. For one night I would bring my niece along and let her sleep with us (she's only 5), but for more time, I would have to give her, her own little tent and connect it with ours somehow.
Overall, from what I can tell so far, this is a good quality tent, material seems strong, and looks nice when all together!
