I decided that the tea maker and electric kettle. It is sold by SMAL. I've included some pictures below. Here's what I think about it.

Right out-of-the-box this is a stylish & stunning looking tea pot. Anyone be proud to display the stunner on their countertops. All the things you need to use are included in this package. You have two lids. One is straightforward it is used for her warming water or other liquids. The other lid includes a nice tea straining basket. You can pop them in and out quickly. I love that you don't have to labor over taking things apart.
This is a very well thought out design. The two options for the lids are bed useful. I also think it is a huge bonus that the indication light is on the top of the handle. My previous teapot a Black & Decker the indication light was at the bottom of the base. It's hard to maneuver a boiling pot of water around to look at indication light. I don't want to be burned! I also love that this is a see-through kettle. We had to rely on the sound of boiling water with my previous pot. You could not see the water so, opening the lid was the only way to tell, every time you did that you lost temperature. That was a design flaw. You surely know when this is boiling. It also has a very nice visual appeal. I applaud them for the design and convenience of use.
The kettle/teapot will get rocket hot in under two minutes. No joking it is fast, fast, fast!!!! You will be at a full boil in no time. This is perhaps the most useful teapot I have ever used. I simply can't see going back to my previous teapot. That to me is a resounding reason to recommend this teapot/kettle. It looks great, it's design is brilliant and functions well.

I love a good cup of tea once in a while, especially when I am sick, but I do not own a tea pot, I usually just pop a mug of water in the microwave, take it out and drop a tea bag in it. This is all well and good but the microwave does not keep the tea hot for a long period of time like regular stove boiling does. Well I figured that if I was going to go the tea pot route I would go for the best. I saw this listing and wow was I intrigued. I could not only boil water extremely quickly with this beautiful glass tea maker but I could also use actual tea leaves, not the store bought cheap bag stuff! I received the item in this giant box and thought, how big is this kettle? Well it is not monster size like the box it came in but it is a really nice size pot. It comes with, A 1.7 liter glass kettle with on/off switch on the handle (the power on light is blue, I love blue lights), a top lid for when just boiling water, a tea diffuser basket with lid for steeping your tea leaves, or tea bags whichever you prefer, the plug in round hot plate that is essentially the stove for the whole thing and an instruction manual. Please make sure you thoroughly wash out this pot as it is brand new and well it is more sanitary. The instructions suggest that you boil 3 separate pots of water before you boil your actual tea. This will clear out any impurities that may be left from the manufacturing process. I did as directed and then boiled 1 pot to see the actual boiling process (and to enjoy some tea while I played with my new toy). I filled the container about 1/4 of the way with cold filtered water, placed the lid on the top and pressed the metal plunger down to secure in place (VERY IMPORTANT, that you make.sure you hear it click in place), and flipped the switch.

This tea maker and electric kettle from SMAL works really well and looks great on a kitchen counter-top. It is not too big and looks really nice with its stainless steel finish. The different water temperature buttons allow you to select the optimal temperature for the tea you are going to make. The boil symbol button allows you to keep water warm, for up to 30 minutes, at a selected temperate which is a great feature for having warm tea again. The instruction manual is very detailed and explains how to use, store, and clean. Simply press the button on the lid to open it up, fill the water to the desired level, (there are markings on the kettle),now press the button again to close the lid. Next you select the temperature and press the power button. The light on the temperature button flashes until the desired temperature has been reached, and then you'll hear buzzers. If you would like to keep the water heated up afterwards, you can press a button to activate that feature. There is also a quick start function which works by simply pressing the power button that automatically heating the water to 100 degrees C. Add the tea to the strainer only after the desired temperature has been reached. It is very easy to use, seems to be well-made, and boils water really well. I have included some pictures for reader's reference. I like that the tea strainer is separate, allowing you to use a tea bag if you preferred. Five stars and definitely recommend.

This is a fantastic kitchen appliance that I am so glad I bought.It looks really nice and I am proud to have it on my kitchen counter for ready use. It boils a lot of water or makes a lot of tea with its capacity of 1.7 L (57.48 oz.). I use it daily as I do like hot tea a great deal and I boil our water before drinking it so that is a great deal of water. This is quicker than another kettle I have and it has more capacity than it, too.
Operation is extremely straight-forward and simple. It has two lids, one for the boiling function and another for the tea making function and a tea making infuser basket for loose leaf tea. We make mostly loose-leaf tea, so this is ideal for us. I wondered if going from water to tea and back again would be a hassle, but cleaning it is very quick and easy and has not been an issue.
The only things I wish on this kettle is that it would have settings for the temperature for making a variety of teas and that there was no plastic on it at all. It is acceptable for me though, since the plastic on this unit does not normally need to come in contact with the water or tea.

It is something we use almost everyday and it helps to make tea easily and fast! The design is sleek and the materials used to make this set are high quality. Like the instructions stated, we made sure to run and heat water through the unit before our first use. The water heats fast and the tea strainer is perfect for loose leaf tea. The lids are made of plastic, do not smell and offer the perfect amount of protection and coverage. This unit and components are well-made and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality tea maker/electric kettle. Makes great hot chocolate too!
Who doesn't love a nice hot cup of tea? I know I do, but I don't always feel like dragging out the cast iron kettle. By the time I get my kettle out, wipe out the dust and rust and get it on the stove, this guy has the water boiled already. I had an electric kettle before that boiled water a little bit faster than this one but it didn't have a removable base and was just plain ugly. This kettle not only looks great enough to leave it out on the counter, but has a lot of nice features as well. As I mentioned, the base the plugs into the wall is actually removable. It has a large basket for loose tea leaves that can actually be moved up and down in the water to help infuse faster without taking the lid off. There is also a lid without the tea basket if you just need hot water. It isn't the cheapest kettle on the market, but it looks nice, works well, and has everything I need. I might just have to retire my cast iron kettle.
Strong factory smell it took a while before the smell finally went away, when you boil the water at the bottom it leaves these brownish marks as if it was rusting. It comes off by scrubbing it hard with the nylon scrubber like the pics it looks ugly to me if you don't remove the marks. Also when you wash it I've noticed and let it air dry it leaves water marks on the steel from the outside, I just don't like that. But other than that the product is a great buy.
This is a very good pot for making fresh tea in less than ten minutes. The basket holds either cut or bagged tea. To make sweet tea we fill the pot to the highest mark hit the start and ten minutes later we stir in sugar put the regular top on and refrigerate. We have had comments from everyone that drinks iced tea with us as to how great the tea taste. I am seldom impressed by a pot or kettle but this is an exception.

I was hesitant to purchase this kettle as I didn't think I would use it. Boy was I wrong! I use it to heat water for everything. It is fast and has a great safety feature- it turns itself off upon reaching a rolling boil. A plus- the attractive design
I do not use the tea holder. I use it mostly to boil water. I love the fact that the entire area which meets liquid is made of glass and stainless. There is a small silicone plug at the top, but if you follow the direction, your liquid would not touch that. The underside of the lid is made of plastic; however, it does not touch the liquid.
