I live in a tiny double shotgun house in New Orleans. That means storage is a huge issue. I bought this bin to hold blankets and smaller ones for sheets etc. Lacking a line closet and my under bed storage is used for pants, skirts etc., I now have a "linen closet" occupying very little space.
Love these perfect for storing extra bedding, sweaters. Since I have found these they are all that I have purchased. I wouldn't recommend them for heavy duty storage. I use a certain clear plastic bin for that sort of thing such as holiday decorations and anything one would store in the garage. They are very nice looking and stacking two in a corner or nook doesn't scream storage!!
Updating my previous review. I've now bought somewhere between 20 and 30 of these excellent containers in jumbo and large sizes. The jumbos fit perfectly atop the sturdy free standing clothing storage racks that have shelves on top - will fit 2 jumbos side by side and two more on top if you have ceiling height. If your free standing clothing rack has a shelf on the bottom like mine does - you can get a couple more jumbos on that. The large containers fit perfectly on my closet shelves and on top of bookcases I have in my storage room. Sizing is excellent, the lightness of the materials helps the cube not be so heavy when full. Best of all, if I don't need them for the moment, they break down for convenient storage until they're needed again. Their forte is clothing storage.
I work out of state so I recently rented a room in a furnished apartment to make commuting easier. The room I rented has a bed but no dresser. I bought a set of Sterlite shelves (also from Amazon) and these boxes to store my clothes. These boxes are great! And they are larger than I pictured them in my head. As you can see in the picture I can place two on a single shelf, side-by-side, but I can't put the tops on those boxes due to the width. That isn't a problem as those boxes are going to be my most often used ones and I probably would have the tops off more often than on anyway. I agree with other reviewer that I wouldn't want to fill these boxes up and then carry them around full (which may be way there is only one handle and not two). But for simple organization/storage these can't be beat.
